A: UPDATE - FEBRUARY 2021. While we very much appreciate your inquiries, we have made the decision to close our puppy applications at this time.
Please check back in early 2022.

A: No, sorry. An average size Shiba litter is often only 2-4 puppies. Bare in mind that your chosen breeder has likely bred the litter to keep first choice puppy for themselves, meaning there is typically only 1-3 puppies available in any litter.
The general consensus amongst Australian Shiba Breeders is that once you have been approved for a puppy, you will then likely wait 18-24mths (sometimes more) for a puppy to become available. We know that's a long time, but your Shiba will be worth the wait!

A: The typical price for a Shiba Inu puppy in Australia is AUD$4000-$6000.
Occasionally, breeders may have adult show/breeding dogs that are looking for their retirement home, these may cost less than typical puppy price.
A: YES! Shiba shed their coat twice a year. We like to joke that "they shed twice a year, for 5mths at a time", but this is not really the case.
BUT! When they do shed, it will be messy. It will feel like they've been shedding forever. You will find Shiba hair everywhere (even in rooms they don't typically go). Your red Shiba will drop so much coat that they will be mistaken for a dingo. We don't tell you this to scare you off, We tell you so you're prepared!
A: Yes. All of our dogs we intend to breed from will have been;
A: Occasionally we may find ourselves in a position where we have an exceptional puppy whom we might like to incorporate in to our breeding program down the track. You may be given this option, but are under no obligation to take a Shiba from us with "Breeders Terms".
If you would like to be considered for a Shiba on "Breeders Terms", please contact us for more information only if you meet the following criteria;
A: You will be provided;
A: In short, they can be. As with any breed, the individual personality of the dog combined with the way in which they're raised (what is "normal" for them) will determine the individual dog's compatibility with children.
As a mother myself, my son was raised amongst our dogs. As a toddler, he was never left unattended with our dogs, was taught to be gentle & all dogs were given a "safe place" in which there was no children allowed.
If you would like to discuss this further, please Contact Us.
A: At this stage, we are not able to accommodate overseas buyers.
A: All approved applicants will be given the opportunity to visit our home and meet our dogs, in fact, we encourage it!
We do not allow people in our home when we have heavily pregnant girls or young babies. This is for our dog's health & safety. We will do our best to be accommodating but cannot normally guarantee a visit day & time months in advance. Visits are likely to be scheduled 2-3wks ahead of time.
If you're wanting to meet a Shiba or get a "Shiba fix", please Contact Us & we can advise on Shiba Meets or Dog Shows in your area where you can meet with Us or other Shiba Owners/Breeders.
A: No. While all consideration will be given to your preference of gender & colour, the final decision on which puppy you will be offered will be Ours.
